I've finally got my wife on board and we're trying to find her something to carry. Working out way up to a 9.... But right now she's comfortable with 380. We're going to go rent a s&w bodyguard 2.0 and a Walther pd380(?) any other recommendations? Ide prefer not to get her a "micro" sized pistol just due to general handling and recoil .... But she does have small hands

Man, from my personal experience, the two you absolutely have to try are the S&W M&P 380 Shield EZ and the Ruger Security-380.The S&W EZ is legendary for being super easy to handle...the slide practically racks itself, which is a huge deal for anyone with small hands. The Ruger is slightly bigger, which means it eats up recoil like a champ, making it incredibly soft-shooting.Rent those two alongside the Bodyguard and the PD380, and she'll find her winner. It's really about what feels best in her hand

That sounds like a plan, appreciate the feedback

Rent these: S&W M&P 380 Shield EZ and Ruger Security-380, both have light slides and low recoil for small hands, you can also try the SIG P365-380.

The S&W M&P 380 EZ is a stellar recommendation for smaller hands...it's super reliable and the slide is ridiculously easy to rack. The Ruger Security-380 is another great choice, it's practically a full-size pistol, making the recoil feel like a dream....add those two to your rental list

You should also check out the Beretta 80X Cheetah. It's a gorgeous, full-featured pistol that's chambered in .380, and it has practically no felt recoil. It’s not the smallest, but the size really makes it a soft shooter and very easy to handle

All these recommendations here are great. The main thing for her is getting that hands-on time...the SIG P365-380 is also a game-changer if she ends up leaning toward a slightly more compact size but still wants that easy-to-manage 380 round, it's all about comfort and confidence.

I bought a Taurus Spectrum for my wife years ago, though I tell her to use the Beretta 92FS if she ever needs to defend herself at home. It was cheap, cute, and made her happy. Then I took it to the range. It was surprisingly fun and easy to shoot. It was reliable with target and SD ammo (from Underwood). For the money, you could pick up something with a better reputation, but I have to say it worked well for me.

Appreciate all the feedback greatly! I was nudging her toward the cheetah.... But she doesn't like the hammer so much. As of now she really likes the Ruger security.... And I am happy to say that she actually surprised me at how accurate and technically sound she is with it. We have tried out everything except the shield ez, which we will get some time with soon. I always try and get a quick little 20-30 min session in every day ... And so far she seems to be retaining everything.
Thanks again for all the recommendations
