What Not to Wear to the Range: My Observations

I've been curious about what people actually wear when hitting the range. Not talking about the tactical gear or anything like that—just everyday clothes.

Recently, I noticed a lot of folks wearing camo. Honestly, it seems a bit out of place for just running through drills. I mean, unless you're hunting or in the woods, does it really make sense? It's like they're ready for a mission or something.

I lean towards pretty basic outfits: jeans and a plain shirt, maybe some sturdy boots. Comfortable, safe, but not trying to look too tactical. It's nice to just blend in and focus on shooting rather than what I'm wearing.

Does anyone else feel this way? Am I just overthinking what to wear? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Dress like you go to the grocery store; Jeans, t-shirt, shoes.

Avoid sandals, low necklines & open shirts. While the "Hot Brass Dance" may amuse other shooters, it is profoundly uncomfortable.

Yea overthinking it a little bit. Just wear what you normally wear. If you carry daily, I don't believe you should have to change anything for the range. You should be ready. Wearing "gear" is unrealistic imo, especially at a range.

Frankly, anything is fine. We are all individuals.

That said, I would probably not wear anything super expensive like an 18k gold Rolex!

I also would avoid the school shooter look. Folks may call the law on you.

I've never given this any thought. I only have regular old guy clothes. I basically wear the same type of outfits every day.
My old lady hates that I wear the "same" clothes everyday.... But when all you do is work I don't see the point in owning nice stuff that will never be worn because it will get trashed

I rarely go anywhere that requires nice clothes such as dress clothes or dress casual. I don't go to fancy restaurants. If I'm not going to a wedding or a funeral, it's cargo pants or cargo shorts and a T-shirt or sweatshirt. I am old and beyond worrying about the current fashion. And I pretty much don't care if people don't like it.

Yes sir. Work, come home and usually work on the house or a project

I wear what feels good. If it's camo, OK! Usually from May thru Sept. it's a wife beater T and shorts. If we are going out to dinner or something like that, it's a wife beater and a little nicer pair of shorts with no holes.
