Top Rated Gun Oils: What Works Best for You?

I've been experimenting with different gun oils lately and am curious to hear what others swear by. Do you have a favorite for your hunting rifle or maybe something else for your handguns? Let's discuss!

I have no idea what I use, it's collected Mobil 1 synthetic collected over the decades as leftover from oil changes. 3 or 6 drops at a time lasts FOREVER.

For just wiping my guns down I use Rem Oil. Both in the spray and towelettes. If I am tearing them down for a complete cleaning I use Gun Slick grease. For my wood stocks and grips I use Renaissance wax. There so many to choose from out there but this works best for me.

Clenzoil, Project Farm did a great video comparing a lot of popular brands and for most civilian use cases, Clenzoil seemed the best. It tends to dry up a little but just touch it up with a needle oiler.

Used 5th wheel grease would work wonders on the bolt

On triggers I use frog pee, super light and doesnt gum-up like some of the others I've used. Hopps on barrels and bolts.

Dave, I've done the same after reading a few articles on the different properties of gun oils compared to 20w50 full synthetic. I bought a quart of it a few years ago, and I think it's still 3/4 full. The light mineral based Hoppe's / Remington gun oils just didn't seem to last very long.

I totally misinterpreted your post...I thought you meant you were using spent motor oil. I retract my laughing emoji

The used stuff is mixed with Kerosene and sprayed on the fences
