Debating between Toyota and Ford

I need something reliable that can handle rough roads to hunting spots. Toyota guys say Tacomas last forever. Ford guys say F-150s are the only real truck. I just want something that won't leave me stranded 30 miles from nowhere. What would you buy and why?

Either could work. It will depend on the specific truck. I would be extra careful in picking the right engine and transmission. It is easy to get something underpowered or unreliable. I think the ford 3.5 turbo is doing well now. It had a rough start with the cam phaser issue.

Toyota probably has better overall quality, but Ford probably has more capability. I’m not sure, but I’d bet the Toyota is more US made.

My last truck and my current were/are F150s. If I was buying one today it would be a Toyota....probably a Tundra, but still a Toyota.

The 4th gen tacoma,s only come with 4cly turbo motors. turning radius is supposed to be bad? the 3rd gen has No back seat room, tow, payload pretty poor. Test drive and you decide !
