What's your favorite shooting range and why? I'm curious about both indoor and outdoor spots — any recommendations based on vibe, rules, or staff?

I'm close to the Bullet Ranch in in Pataskala. It's a nice gun shop and range. It cost about $20 to shoot there. If they are not busy they let you shoot past your allotted time. I don't go there often but it's nice being so close. Honestly I prefer an outdoor range. I've been a member of a few but have left them for one reason or another. The one I use now is the Zanesville Rifle Club. It only cost $40 a year and has a 300 yard range. It's a national guard range so it has the nice pull down targets like camp Perry does. It's not crowded during the week so you have plenty of time to do your thing.

The only one close to me down southwest with no rules and free range of movement is Impact shooting center. It's 40 min drive and outdoor and if I'm lazy the only other option for me is RangeUSA.

The wife and I are moving more north. Clinton county. I've shot at range USA, really not a fan of indoor ranges except in the winter :P

Never heard of of Impact shooting range, but the price of membership is pretty steep for an old retired guy.

My wife picked the new place, it's close to where her horse boards. It's also not too far from Spring Valley, and Clinton County Farmers and Sportsman shooting club. We won't mention the fishing, Cowan Lake and Caesars Creek :ROFLMAO:

Ceasers creek, one of my favorite musky holes!

My favorite is Midwest shooting center in Cridersville Ohio. Indor rifle and pistol range and a great selection of guns for rent or for sale. Membership is reasonable and you can bring guests.

Most of the time I'll shoot at Moulton Gun Club in Auglaize County, outdoor rifle ranges at 100 and 200 yards. I did belong to Midwest Shooting Center but let my membership expire, I don't much care to be indoors while shooting.

I've only been to the indoor ranges locally, American Indoor Range in North Jackson is my favorite and the owner is a really nice guy. There's the Training Range in Austintown too, Bill is great to deal with but even still I only go there if American Indoor is closed. The Training Range is more modern but I've had some odd experiences there.

The have their hours posted as closed at 7 but they won't let you on the range after 6. The one time I got held up in construction so I called and explained the situation, I said I should be there right at 6 but it might be a couple mins after, no later than 6:05, can I do a half hour or should I just wait? The guy says that's no problem, I got there at 6:03 and they wouldn't let me on the range. Another time I paid for an hour but my lane shut off after half an hour, I go out and let the RO know what happened. He said "well you've been here about an hour now" I said no 1:45 to 2:15 is half an hour I paid for an hour. That was the other guy, when Bill is working I never have an issue.

That's an easy one
Patriots attic
Huntsville oh
20 bucks for all day to shoot, and they rent full autos

I've been using Logan County Fish and Game just North of Bellefontain Ohio. Covered pistol shooting positions so one can shoot in the rain as long as wind not too strong. Cost is $65 a year to join. Drawbacks so far are seem to be pistol/rifle range gets closed when shotgun or other activities are going on so need to check their calendar on FB, need to bring your own structures (cardboard boxes) to hang targets and low backstops. Also, if anyone posts about negative behavior witnessed there seems to be a reflexive impulse to "ban them" if we see it type attitude.
