Summer is always a bit of a lull for hunting, but it's the perfect chance to get a jump on things. I've been going through my gear and checking trail cams, but I feel like I could be doing more, like managing the land or getting in better shape, so I'm curious how everyone else spends their summer prepping for the hunt.

Humid and in the 90's I'm not doing much in the field. In my younger days the heat didn't bother me much. Now coming up on being 69 next month. I pay more attention to these things. Then there are the ticks we keep seeing more of.

My camera equipment was taken care of when it was pulled out of the field at the end of hunting season. I am always thinking of better ways to hunt the 150 acres I have access too. I just picked up a used two seat tree stand for $50. I'm also looking for another spot for a new feeder. I will also be buying a good supply of corn for the feeders in early September. Other then that, I will just be waiting for bow season.
