I hit up a local lake in Ohio last weekend, just me and my trusty old tackle box. Targeted largemouth bass mainly, and the weather was pretty decent – sunny with a light breeze. Water temps were a bit chilly, but I figured they'd still be biting. Threw on a spinnerbait and worked it along the edges of some cover.
Had a couple of slow hours where nothing seemed to want to eat, but finally connected with one decent bass around midday. It was about 3 pounds, which isn't bad for this time of year! Lost another one right at the boat – the classic 'forgot my net' moment.
How's everyone else doing? Are the fish biting in your areas?
