I first came across Montana Knife Company while listening to the Dave Ramsey EntreLeadership podcast where their founder, Josh Smith, was featured. He shared some insights about creating a brand that emphasizes American-made craftsmanship, which really caught my attention.

The knives look like they’re built to last, but I’m curious if anyone here has actually used one. How do they perform in the field or around the house? Would love to hear your thoughts.

I’ve never handled them. Looks like they make a great magnacut hunting knife, but would need to feel it in hand to spend nearly $400 on it. This seems a bit steep for a production operation and it is odd that most are out of stock.

That said, they look like great thin knives for hunting and other uses. I saw quite a few made from Magnacut which is really the premium steel today.

I only mention the price because I’ve seen other good looking Magnacut production knives under $250 and available.
